This week I was tasked with designing an energy water drink label. Nutrition information and barcode was already given to us to use in the project. I decided to do a good old fashion water bottle label.
Color Option
The first thing I had to decide was my color choice. I went with blue because it is associated with water, Blue is the color most closely associated with water, sky, and calmness. It gives a sense of freshness, purity, and cleanliness, all of which align with the idea of drinking water. Blue is also linked with trustworthiness, stability, and reliability, qualities that companies want to project when selling a health-focused product like water. The other color choice was Green because it is both Natural and refreshing. Green is frequently associated with nature, health, and vitality. It suggests that the product is fresh, pure, and good for your body. It’s also tied to environmental sustainability, a common theme for brands that are trying to appeal to eco-conscious consumers. Green is often used to convey a sense of naturalness or that the product is sourced responsibly, especially if the water is from a natural spring or eco-friendly production practices. Both colors together suggest that the water is clean, pure, and naturally sourced, giving customers a sense of health, well-being, and environmental responsibility. It’s a very calming, positive combination that can influence purchasing decisions subconsciously.
Challenges
A main challenge I had was learning how to use the roughen effect on a square shape I made to create the forest illusion in my water bottle label. Finding the right adjustment was a bit complicated. Also adding the gradient to the sky and finding the right angle took me a couple tries.
