In this week’s Creative Blog, I’d like to share a fun exercise we did in class, inspired by a video from Stefan Mumaw. The activity, called "What’s Next?" This challenged us to stretch our creative thinking. The task was simple, imagine finding a tape recorder on the ground. When you press play, it delivers a message, and then it’s up to you to come up with a series of one-sentence scenarios describing what the recorder might say next.
This is a list I made for this exercise.
Don't move, they are watching you.
Take this tape recorder and destroy it.
This tape will now self-destruct in 5 seconds.
Look behind you.
It's time you know what to do.
If you're hearing this, the plan is in motion.
Jump up on one leg and rub your tummy simultaneously.
Quick, go listen to your favorite song.
Scream like a psycho.
I know what you did last summer.
What's your favorite scary movie?
Everything you know is a lie.
Take the blue pill or the red pill. The choice is yours.

It was a great way to explore spontaneous storytelling and push the boundaries of imagination.
